Is anyone out there a medical assistant or ever been one? if so, and if you dont mind,whats the annual salary?

I have some experience in the field. I know that salaries for MA's will vary depending on the state you live in and the work setting, but generally for as much education you need to become certified the pay is low. Try checking out www.salary.com. Some states will allow a medical assistant to start work without a degree with OJT. But, generally, if you go to school and you go to a private institution and take out student loans, you will not make enough money in your salary after graduation to pay back your loans. Typically $8-12/hr. Again, check out salaries in your area, but for the same length time for the typical MA program, you could go to school to become a LPN/LVN and make more money and have more job opportunities. If you still want to become an MA, check out programs that cost less like community colleges or job corp training. Good Luck.
I've heard that the pay is generally low and that there really aren't too many jobs for medical assistants (or in medical billing). Here is a website for general career info from the US Occupational Outlook Handbook: www.bls.gov/oco and can type into search 'medical assistant' or such.
If you still would like to attend a program for medical assistant, please do Not look into those programs at private schools since they are generally really overpriced and those 'online schools' such as penn foster and stratford career institute as they are not considered to be reputable places of learning. A local county vo-tech school or community college (perhaps non-credit course) should be a lot cheaper and (hopefully) accredited. Good luck to you!
