once when i was an assistant manager in retail, the store i worked for had a department store credit card and i delt with the past due balance accounts and when i was a teller supervisor, i delt with people's negative balance. how can i incorporate that into my resume and say it more professionally and intellectually?

I sort of do the same thing for an actual collections agency. I would say you collect past due accounts or unresolved accounts receivable, or even manage bad debt.
