I own my own business working at home with a few programs.
Having been in your situation a little while back I looked into a LOT of programs, some of which were scams (a good many), some of which paid but not enough to make it worth your time, and a few few that actually worked.
Be wary of programs that want you to pay a large start-up fee. Read thurougly their terms of service and make sure they are going to be offering you a service worth that fee.
In resources I will list a few of the companies that I've found to actually pay worth the time I put into them. Keep in mind that not every program will work for you and be selective. Track the results you get from each program.

If you have any writing talent, you could write some greeting card sayings and submit them online via e-mails. Most of them pay pretty nicely, if they want to use your idea. But that's just it. They have to want to use it. If not, you don't get any money for just submitting them. You could also sell stuff on eBay.

There is no such thing as a work from home job that you find online. They are ALL scams. You could always get creative and ask yourself if you have any marketable skills. Like sewing, making things, become a writer, use your imagination.
I wouldn't bother trying. Its all a scam. A friend of mine tried it, he paid £30 for his information pack and he realised the only way to make money from it was to sell the information pack to other suckers.

I have looked and, as many have replied, 99% are scams. The ones that are legitimate will only hire employees in India (where they will pay them squat and then charge US companies handsomely for the work these employees provide.)
I do, however, work at home. I got this job by knowing the right person at the right time. So, my advice to you is that if you want to work at home talk to employers near you. A lot of employers don't post work-at-home jobs anywhere, but they do exist.
Just last week Good Morning America did a segment on working at home for US companies. Unless you get a direct reference for online "work at home" jobs, do not bother.

Well I tried a lotta surveys and other stuff but they pay really, really little which isn't worth your time. Other then selling stuff on Ebay, doing some serious affiliate marketing , or setting up a really popular website.. its tough to make money online.
You could try image hosting though. You can upload any pictures you have on the net and share it with people. Anytime anyone sees a picture, you'll get paid. The more people see, the more you get paid. The figure isn't huge but it's an easy to make some money when you share images a lot. You could show these pictures on Ebay, Myspace, your blog, forums or with friends and family..
I've tried it. It sorta works. Slow money at first but I guess it
snowballs after some time when the pictures are up on the net for a period of time. Or if you work hard at it. I don't seriously think it'll be your main source of income from the beginning, but maybe in the near future after you've been working at it for some time. Link for the image host is below:

Alternatively.. if you use a normal image host like Image Shack, Flickr or Photobucket you could combine it with User Cash, this script that adds a tiny banner on top of your out-going links. You earn whenever people click on your thumbnails of images or even normal links on your blog or website. No pop-ups and its non-invasive and not spammy. Once again.. it's not huge money but at least it's a start.

I've come across three legitimate opportunities whereby you can work from home. As far as I can tell however, these offers will not supplement a full time job income. You can definatly make some extra spending money on the side (as I have) through these sites and the best part of it is that you will never give these people a credit card number or money. It's as simple as joining and discontinuing participation if you discover it's not for you. I've had a lot of experience over the past 3 years with this subject. I went through litereally 50+ different companies on the interent trying to make money while I was in college. There's sooo much crap out there and companies that promise you the world but deliver nothing but hype, it takes a while to seperate the crap from the genuine money making opportunities.
Now after sooo many disapointments I'm using a crowd called Data Entry Pro and it's now making me money (finally!) online.
Anyway, basically you sign up with them and then once your logged in you just fill in as many forms as you like in their members section and you get paid for each one. I get checks from them every 2 weeks each averaging around $250-$350. You could make more but I just use the site as an extra income stream aswell as my full time job so I only work on it for around an hour each night.
You do have to be prepared to spend a little money though if you want to do anything online like this but it´s already been worth it for me.
