Do not lie to the new employer, they can and do ask employers the reason why you no longer work there. You sign a release of liability to do the background check on you. Meaning that you release the former employers to give prospective employers that kind of information. They may not lie about you or give out false information, but they are able to give out truthful, employment related information. (In other words they can't talk about a car accident you had, or your kids, but can say you had an attendance problem and were absent more than the company allowed)
Best bet is to say that things were not working out at that company and you are looking to make a career change/company change.
The company interviewing you tomorrow probably called to verify your employment.
do you mean what should you tell the next interviewer? Say the job really wasn't working out. I am looking for a job that is .. This is why it wasn't working out at the old place.
Just tell them that you were laid off. It works great during times when the economy is bad, housing market is a bust, etc. They have no choice but to believe you because they cannot ask the question of your former employer, whether you were fired. Good luck!
The best move is just tell the truth in your job interview about what happened at your current employer, but be careful not to critical of people that you worked with there.
My suggestions is that you be honest with the new employer, if they check it out you will look bad and honesty is always better
You tell them that you were told that you don't fit in with the company and that you don't know if they found out you were interviewing with other companies.
Be very honest on your interview tomorrow. If they ask, tell them what your current employer told you.
Why are we expected to give at least a two-week notice, yet the company can let you go with no notice whatsoever.
In any event, this might be a blessing in disguise. Good luck with your interview. Don't say anything negative about your current employer or anyone you worked with. Be positive.
If you get a chance to talk to your boss, ask him to be more specific about how you "don't fit in".
there is a lot of companies that do that .you give a notice and the fire you and they let you go .that does suck bad .of course tell the truth it will not hurt you at all it helps them trust you ..you will not loose your new job because of it .your old componie still needs to grow up . sheer up youll do fine just stay dependable and smily face .
you could just say as a matter a fact that your last day was yesterday and that you are looking forward to finding the right company / fit . i would not offer details / be emotional. i doubt that your company can say anything other than the dates you worked at the company and your what your job title was. sometimes they will confirm salary or say that he / she was not eligible for rehire. they really are on thin ice in saying that type of thing. legal usuallly advises to stay with dates of employment / job title only. if you want to know what they are saying about you , why not have a freind call them up on speakerphone and ask them to try to verify your employment. give a fake name / company and see what they say. good luck.
just tell them what happened they will call your recent employer to find out why you were let go
It is possible they found out you were looking for a job else where. Some places will let you go if they know that. I would tell the truth and say you think they knew you were looking for work or that you had an interview.
