What financing options can a new, not yet accredited cosmetology school offer to its students?

My mom and I are wanting to open a cosmetology school but are being told it takes 18 mos to become accredited. Until accredited we will not be accepted by Dept of Education to offer grants and loans. What do people do during that 18 mos? Most people cannot self pay.

Answer:
You could have students sign a contract to pay the costs over a longer time than the course. That way you're essentially making the student loans - might be hard to collect, plus you don't get the tuition until later, so maybe not a good option.
I don't understand why a person would want a degree, of whatever kind - trade, or otherwise - from a school that is not yet accredited in its field.

Until then, you have no financial aid options, other than directing them to a bank to get a personal loan.
