You could also look at your local community and see if they offer programs in which they teach disabled youth how to ride. That involves a lot of hands-on work with horses and looks great on a resume.

Depends on what type of work with horses you want to do. You want to be a trainer find a Facility that works with the type of horses that you want to deal with and go clean stalls and learn about the intricate workings of a training facility. I know that some of the Ag. colleges offer courses in training as well. New Mexico State for instance has courses in horsemanship and training. there is also a wealth of information on training facilities in the Western Horseman Magazine. Good luck to you in your search for employment in the horse industry although it sometimes doesn't pay very well it is very rewarding work.
