What is a good job for a person with back problems?

I've been dealing with back pain for over 10 yrs now.and stomach longer than that. I am now an assistant manager in retail. I have specail mats we stand on at the register and we also walk around quite a bit. (I do not suggest walmart, kmart, or other "big box" store) Go for smaller ones like Dollar General or Family Dollar. I"ve worked there for two years and my back did hurt just a little. Until I got some crocs (the shoes) omg they are like walking on air. They feel funny and look ugly as all get out but it works for me. (and about a zillion nurses)

Even if you have to stand or sit a lot you need to tone your muscles. To shift your weight put a small wooden box ( the size of a brick) under your feet and you'll see how this helps.
If you have debilitating physical problems and stress like that maybe you should consider filing for disability. I have the same problems but that back pain turned into osteoarthritis then bursitis popped up then rhuematoid arthritis then fibromayalgia, and so on. If you have seen a doctor about your problem and it's permanent you may want to apply. Most people get turned down but don't quit, get an attorney specializing in the filing for disability. It's commendable that you want to continue working but if your doing so will make your health worse it's not beneficial to do so. Consider your options.
The last thing you want them to do is sit all day. I have back problems and i can't sit behind the pc for too long without slouching. It's good i find, to have the sort of job that has you doing a lot of activities. No hard work like gardening but smimming instructor would be cool. Swimming is really good for people with back problems so. why not get cured and make money all at the same time? remeber, the trick is to avoid lifting heavy stuff and not to stay in a position for too long. Also you could teach in a class where you can walk about and sit down as you please.
