What to do when your boss does this?
Answer:
Go to your Workplace Health and Safety Committee. They will mandate the new chair.
Complain to your boss's boss.
i think that is when you should go over his leve of power
Stab her in the eye with a company pen.
Buy your own, then deduct it on your taxes.
Ask Human Resources for the chair/supplies. They are there to protect the company's interestes ie keep you happy and healthy.
do your work properly and stay away from corperate spies..i.e broter
Put your request in writing, if it is still ignored, go over her head.
tell him to take care of you, if he declines, miss it's to me to leave?
you go to the doc and complain about the chair, he puts you on drugs and or sends you to the chiropractor.. he recommends a decent chair, you bill workers comp..they'll probably just fire you.. I just went to a place that sells used chairs and found an $800.00 office chair for .get this. 50 bucks!
In a nice way, explain to them that you want to be able to do the best job you can for them but that it is hard when you have to sit all day with a bad chair and it takes your mind off of your work when your back or whatever hurts. Tell them that it is also better to fix a problem before it becomes a workman's comp injury and then it costs a whole lot more than for a chair. hope this helps
In situations such as those, you have two choices. You can either go to the next rung on the ladder, or, you can go to your Human Resources department, if you have one.
Personally, I would just go up the next rung on the ladder, and mention the problem to your boss.
It would depend. If he is not aware of it, and you think he knows, that is different than you telling him, and he is saying he is not going to do it. Try asking him one more time, and then, if he doesn't get you a better chair, then take it up the chain.
Ask her/him again and if they fail to produce, ask why they haven't given you one. It may be one of those things where they dont have the funds to purchase it. Or maybe they dont want to buy you one cause then everyone else will start asking for stuff too. I would be careful about going over your boss' head for things like accomodations. It may make you appear insubordinate, and your boss would not like that. If all else fails ask if you could purchase yourself one and if they would allow a maintenance person to assemble it at work for you.
If the lack of a supportive chair is affecting you in a negative physical way and causing pain, talk to your doctor about it; and have him/her write out a prescription for you for a supportive ergo dynamic chair for you. If there is a company doctor, make sure you go to him/her and explain what problems you are having.back pain etc. You want to have these problems documented. If you are a valuable employee, your boss may want to keep you happy in order for you to keep up your productivity. If there are other employees in your workplace who need more supportive chairs, you could go as a group, to upper management if these suggestions do not work. There have been medical studies done which have proven that employees will be a great deal more productive if they are using correct and supportive equipment, chairs, desks, cushioned mats underfoot, ergonomically correct placement of keyboards and monitors. Best of luck to you and have a good night!!
Buy yourself a small lumbar pillow and use that.
You go to your Occupational Safety Officer or an OSHA if necessary. Don't let him/her ruin your life .
