Here is a great site to earn some extra cash. I work here and i make great money. It's so easy, all you do is fill out short surveys and they pay you for it. The best part is you don't have to pay them to work and you can work at your own convenience.Check it out and give it a try. If you have any questions you can email me or go to the forum on the site. They can answer any question you have. You can also go to the forum on the site to see proof of payment. Good Luck!
Check out your resume for any flaws - maybe grammatical errors. Of if you have a lot of recent jobs, maybe they think you move around too much. Are your references reliable? How do you conduct yourself during interviews. Why did you leave you last job(s)? Think about these things - maybe these potential jobs are finding out things about you that you don't even know. Also, if you have a Myspace page (or any other online page), employers look at those too. If they don't like what they see, they won't hire you. Good luck!
I don't know what you have on your resume right now but here's a couple thing I look for when hiring students.
1) They've worked at least one really crappy job like McDonalds. I want to hire a student that understands what a crummy job is versus the job I offer them.
2) I need to know that the student is totally inflexible with their time. Yup, you heard me right, inflexible. As a student it is your responsiblity to get an education and make it clear to me as an employer that I can't take all of your time. Sounds weird, but honestly you need your time to study, to go to class and most of all, goof off (part of learning about yourself).
A job that I offer a student during summer is for one thing. to learn how to work. If you are expected at work you show up, you are polite to co-workers, you bathe (not kidding about this one) and get something accomplished (even if it's small) that is done right.
3) I look for someone that shows an interest in the job and appears happy. Even if they have no clue what they are applying for. Enthusiaism counts for a student
I should forewarn you though, my business is all computer based . Build, fix, planning, contracting and consulting. So it's probably different for retail, however I would hazard a guess that it isn't.
If I were you I would ask to talk to a store manager and ping them with questions on how you can better approach the task of getting a retail position. Make sure to understand that what they say may sound like criticism, but may really just be them trying to help you. Just keep a smile on and pay attention to the details.
Good luck amiga.
5-10 hours a week is all you need to make some big money
