How much do web designers make in salary?
Answer:
Since you asked about *web* designers, here's an on-topic answer:
During the net-boom of the 90's, web designers below the curve and just on it made respectable money for sub-par work. Those ahead of the curve made outrageous incomes.
Now that the market has leveled off, you could compare it with most any design business. Client management has become as important as the design itself, so web designers with a professional approach do better than those without, while those with true talent *and* professionalism tend to do the best.
If your designs are clean, innovative and you are truly immersed in the industry, you might make between $50K - $80K as a design team lead, or a truly inspired freelancer.
If your work has trouble standing out, you're looking at closer to Wal-Mart wages, paid by clients who want web work on the cheap and are willing to compromise appearance and/or function.
The most successful designers I've known have been skilled programmers, savvy businesspersons and above all, naturally talented artists.
actually they get paid by each garment they design. they can get anywhere from $50-$20,000 ranging from who professional they are, how nice the design is, or just..which designer they are. like for instance, dont you kindof think target designers and dolce &gabanna have different salaries? yep yep. and when people buy their clothes, about 10% of that money goes to the designer hope that helped ♥
I'm a graphics and web designer by profession. When I first started out, I was making about $31K, plus I was freelancing too, so I was making a bit more. But a lot of designers now are underpaid, so it really depends on your experience. Now I make almost twice as much in the senior level. I would suggest to avoid working for asian companies because you will be underpaid and working twice as hard. I worked up to 11 hours a day with overtime and it really sucked. But I gained a lot of experience in the end and got to where I am today.
