When you are at work?

I see plenty of people reguarly hanging around and socializing at work, and they get paid just for being at work without really doing much work.
How many of you ever get this feeling that you're being paid just for showing up and being at work? Is there a threshold for this kind of feeling that need to be monitored and should not be crossed?
If you get this feeling too often, would you say you are @ a wrong job or even have chosen wrong profession?

Answer:
When I worked in retail, it was pretty much just all socializing with my co-workers. Our store wasn't very busy, so we had lots of downtime. If there was stuff that needed to be done, we would do it, but other than that, we would just hang around and chat. It was awesome!
thats why i work with this co. http://home.createmyfuture.com
That depends. If I was part of the Teamsters, then that kind of work enviornment would make perfect sense.

I envy people that go to work for socialization and make money. I'm a cna at a 100+ bed nursing home and I work my as@ off for my pay
I've noticed its usually upper level management that does this! This I have a problem with !
