How easy is it to get a job in colorado springs?

My wife and I are sick of South Texas weather, so we've made the decision of moving early next year to Colorado Springs, CO. I currently work for an oil well service company as a field engineer, I have a B.S.M.E. After checking the career market in C.S. I've found out that the jobs available are mostly within the IT industry. Is anybody familiar with the job market in C.S. that may be able to help me out. Thanks in advance.

Answer:
You're right about IT-heavy jobs. I used to live in C.S., and it was wonderful, but if you're not IT or military, it's harder to find good jobs.

I'm a petroleum engineer currently on the job search, I've heard promising things about Denver.look into both ConocoPhilips and Shell for openings. There are also some larger gas fields in the northern part of the state, so take a look at Grand Junction. Sorry to dodge the question, but if you're looking for a climate change then any of these cities should fit the bill.
