If you have a child you can keep them at home (no babysitting expenses)
Disadvantages
Being couped up in the house all day and night will drive you crazy.
Not getting out to enjoy the day.
Not being around co-workers or being able to socialize.
Losing touch with things outside the house.

Disadvantage - You aren't socialising as much

The major advantages relate to taxes. As someone who works from their home if you maintain an office at home then a portion of your rent or mortgage payment becomes tax deductable as a business expense. Same goes for your phone bill, internet service etc..Of course you also save the cost of commuting to and from work..and to some degree you can set your own hours. Certainly it is easier to time getting to work! The major disadvantage is the distractions that are likely when working at home..you need to be very disciplined about working when you are supposed to be working.That TV is nearby..the neighbors, mailman and friends and relatives can be a problem too. The phone calls coming in may not always relate to business either. Finally, some people don't do well with the isolation factor. If you enjoy interacting in person with people throughout your business day, you may find working at home depressing eventually. I personally wouldnt have it any other way!!
