I own my own business and have overcome some applicants which seem illegal but have shown valid SSN?

How do I look up their ssn I don't want to get in trouble

Answer:
The people who respect and obey the laws of this country salute you! While it may be difficult to determine if a number belongs to an individual, you can check for valid numbers here:

https://www.ssnvalidator.com/pages/searc.

In the case of twins with different state identifiers, I would be really suspicious.
Please contact the INS and let them find out.
I don't know how you do that. I just wanted to commend you on your good work. I'm glad to see some employers are willing to do things the right way and not hire illegals.
You Sir, have a good day!
I know that you can call or contact the local Social Security office and verify the SSN's.
"seem" illegal? I'm not even sure I know that that means. I think you are judging people based on language and appearance and it would be best if you try and possibly educate your self on all of the different kinds of people that are Americans.
Don“t check
Hire them, do you know there are 40,000,000 latinamerican people in the U.S.?
You are not going to get in trouble
They are going to be better and loyal workers.
Good for you! This one is easy: go to http://www.socialsecurity.gov, and there is information on their website as to how you can verify social security numbers against names. You can do up to 10 at a time on a screen, so the whole process will probably take you about 15-20 minutes-time well spent!
You cant say their numbers checked out, then say they 'seem illegal', but anyway if you are not sure just contact the relevent authorities to double checke their status.
