Why do some people finish tests fast, and i always am the last person?

yesterday i had a job writeen exam for english usage, office practices, and filing. We had 2 hours for this test and i began to notice everyone was finishing up 1 hour after the test had started. On the other hand, I was still struggling to finish 15 minutes before the 2 hours were up. Is my mind really slow or something? One more piece of info: in speaking i'm also very slow and i get confused with what i say.

Answer:
I understand your situation well.there is nothing more intimidating that have a test and see people leaving the room with tons of time to spare. I know my first reaction is one of fear.thinking that these folks were better prepared than me.
One possible way to mitigate these feelings is to "practice, practice, practice". You can find books detailing the likely set of questions to be used in these tests (your local Librarian should be able to provide you with assistance). One strategy that worked for me is to practice with a friend the dynamics of an interview. Dress-rehearsal in this case will provide you with the ability to attack the test questions in an effective manner in addition to give you the confidence you need to overcome any physical limitations you may have.

Best wishes and good luck.
I was like that (i think) because my reading speed was 100 words per minute.
I learn spead reading and raiced up to 600 w/m.
Send me an email and i will send you the abstract of the book "Accelerated Learning"
I finish slower than everybody else in college exams. Maybe you think out the answers more thoroughly than others. Some people answer the first thing that pops to their mind and move on. maybe you don't.
i noticed that too.i always run out of time because i must double check my answers:)
I'm one of those speed demon test-takers that seem to shake your confidence, but all that really matters is that you finish the test and your answers are accurate. Take all the time you need within the time you're given. If they allow 2 hours they can't fault you for taking 1 hour and 55 minutes.
u answers the questions which u know first then u switch onto other .the answers which u dont know think and answers .sometimes the luck may favours u.
Some ppl always race and rush through! You shouldnt worry you just wanna take your time and do good! I use to have that problem too.
They may be fast to understand the intention of the question asked. They are sure about their answers.[Some times they may not be correct] Any way taking sufficient time to answer within the allowed period is not a CRIME.Try to be calm and self confident.
I'm usually one of the slow ones too and I notice those that too. As long as you fill in the answers that you think are right you shouldn't pay too much attention to other people. If they give you a full two hours, you shouldn't worry about doing it 1 hour faster, the more times you check over your work the more you'll get right.
Focus on what you're doing. You're probably like me.you have a million things on your mind and you just can't focus on one item because you're used to multi-tasking.
There's tons of books and information online that can help you focus on the job at hand.
Good Luck!
