Is it better to stay at a high paying job you are bored with, or move to a lower $ that makes you happy?

Answer:
Thats a question that a lot of people ask themselves!
In my opinion, if you are able to live respectfully of the "happy" job than go for it! You spend a third of your life at work, you should at least enjoy it!
What is your current job and what is your "happy" job? maybe I can give you a better answer!
Can you afford the move? I'd rather be happy than rich and bored.
I never sacrifice happiness for money.
It's better to work at the high paying job for awhile, then switch over to the lower paying job.
Lower paying job- you will have more fun and not think about the work, and you could even be willing to work overtime, to make more money.
Move on.
Depends on a lot of factors. If you have a big family that you need to support, you need the high paying job. If it is just you, go for the lower paying position.

Either way, I think it is best to be happy in your position. Some people just have too much responsibility to make a switch after too long.
move to the one that makes you happy. I think you answered your own question don't you?
Go to a lower paying job that will make you happy. As long as you can survive to work and not work to survive, do what you want and have an enjoyable time doing it.
If you won't go into financial ruin by changing, I'd go for the happy job.
stay at your high paying job check out monsterjobs.com find a new job then give a two weeks notice and quit.
Depends on whats more important to you. If you got a family to take care of stick to your high paying job else move over to whats interesting to you.
I think that I would want to move to a lower paying job that would make me happy. I was in this situation, but my job was so stressed and boring, I hated it. I quit the job, and now Iam unemployed with no money but Iam happy. Being happy is what really matters.
if you can afford to change jobs to do what you like to do then do it. just make sure you have something in savings just in case. good luck!
well.what is more important to you: money or happiness?? it really depends on the person.
Life is too short and chaotic to be unhappy..personally id take lower paying job.Of course then if u are poor that may make u unhappy.always a dilemma isn't it?
Are you just bored or do you really have a problem with the job. I would rather be happy than rich but make sure the other job will really make you happy.

Personally boredom would not make me quit a high paying job, but that's just me. I would only quit if I was very frustrated and just hated going there.
I think that, if you're bored, your work suffers. Move to the lower paying job if that will truly make you happy and fulfilled.
I think that is the dilemma that is always facing prostitutes - stay with something undesirable but high paying or move on to making low wages elsewhere. If you think about your current job as a form of whoring then your choice is clearer.
you have to weigh out your options-are you able to get by with a lower payiing job? or would you be able to settle not being as happy at work, but making more money?
Go to the one that makes you happy!!
No doubt!
depends on if you can afford to go to the lower paying job
You should look at why you are bored. From experience I have noticed that problems tend to follow people. Even if a job looks better are you sure that it is better.
Stay at your high paying job as long as possible before you finally blow up. When you have enough money and you have all the "material" things that you need then go for the low paying job that makes you happy. Stick with the high paying job until you get sick of money. Once you feel that it is time for you to be happy and enjoy what you are doing then go for the low paying job. Money isn't everything, but it is important. Once you have baught everything you need to buy then you can "retire" or go for the low paying job.
This is a pretty complex question. Do you have life goals? Are you working to achieve something in particular? There may be a good compromise--can you say more?
move on and be happy. I did it once and now I'm very well payed, because i'm happy doing what I do so i do a better work and my boss sees it.
Happiness is hard to find, look within! if you find a career that you really like, that is a blessing in itself. Many folks work so they can pay the Man. But most are miserable. Always seek to find what makes you happy!
Add up all your outgoings and if you can afford the change, then go for it. As long as you don't miss the extras the higher salary gave you.
Pension scheme etc.
Don't forget, it's not all about right now. Would you rather be working for another 30 years or another 35 years. or whatever the number might be. The amount you make right now, and the earning opportunity for that job directly relate to how long you will be working. Also, if you have other people to support you should think about that. Or if you want to someday have other people to support.
Boredom with eat you alive .you might become depressed, turn to addictive behavior..

Even if you are paid less at the other job you will be challenged and you could always get pay increases. Plus motivation will come back into your career. Mental health is paramount in our culture there is hardly enough happiness out there.

Go for the rewarding career.
