How much is your background looked into when you apply for the police academy?
Answers:
Both my brother's are police officers in Baltimore and they put them through the ringer with the background checks. The eldest of the two took almost a year and the younger took about 4 mos (he didn't hold as many positions for obvious reasons.) The younger actually left a couple of places not in the best of terms, but this didn't hurt him in anyway. I wouldn't worry as long as you didn't steal or become violent with anyone. They do not expect for all of your bosses to have liked you.
They check VERY thoroughly.
Include the details, they may not hurt you.
But if you don't include them and you find out, they may wonder what else you conveniently forgot to mention.
ya if i were you i would put every thing they ask for in it. they go way pack into your past.. but any ways.. good luck
I'm from TX and I put myself through the academy. The academy did a quick background check. If you get hired with a PD and they send you to an academy, the PD will do your background. They do a detailed background. It all depends on which academy or PD you go to. Some dont really do one and others do a detailed one.
