Go see a doctor for starters if you haven't, and get a diagnoses he will be able to put you on a course of tablets... if you don't want to take man made drugs then try st johns wort (i did) and tell the doctor that is what you would prefer to use...
Once the tablets start to kick in this is the time to get your self out there hiding your self away will not help you at all it will only make you worse... the hardest thing is to get out there after feeling so down ... but believe once you have got out there and your doing things for your self it will soon become easier then you thought ... its only hard the first few times honest...
don't let the job centre dictate to you what job they want you to do ... get the job your self at least that way you will feel like you have the control of your own life and what you want to do. even if you only go for interviews this is a nice way of getting your confidence back .. getting to the interview is a good self achievement when ya down even if you don't get the job the social will get off ya back cause your trying to sort your own life out..
All this takes time just don't give up trying life is too short and usually what ever it was that got you so low has long time past so you need to put your chin up and leave it in the past
good luck sweetie xx
suck it up. that's what people have been doing for thousands of years. I'm sorry to be so harsh but I'm so tired of hearing about lame excuses like depression and anxiety.

whoever gave me a thumbs down, quit trying to encourage these losers with fake illnesses. its purely laziness and lack of responsibility
can u get incapacity benefit?
You didn't put down what state you live in,but here in Texas, they go by your education level and if you need to get a GED then they have programs to help you.

If you are 'ill' you shouldn't be on jobseeker's allowance should you? You should be signed off by the doctor and be claiming Incapacity Benefit.

Or how about you take some responsibility, seek some help from the doctor, sort out your messed up self, educate yourself then get a job?

Don't get me wrong, I have every sympathy if you suffer from depression and have trouble being around people, but you need to wake up and take control of your life.It might not be immediate but have something to aim for.

Go get some advice from the CAB if you think the job centre is hounding you unnecessarily.

Good luck sorting your life out!
The easiest way to get a job is to have one. That way when you interview for another job, you will be able to tell them where you are working now and show that you would be a good employee. Being around other people and having responsiblies to perform could take you mind off the things that are causing you to be depressed and worried. Being without a job would do that to me too.

Also working with others is a good way to find out about other jobs that might be available to apply for.

Good Luck
If you are not well enough to work they should take this into consideration, perhaps you should see your doctor, he can advise you, I would suggest you ask the job centre to look at transferring you onto incapacity benefit until you are well enough to job seek, this should stop any unwanted pressure while you collect your thoughts. However is being out of work causing your anxiety? Hope you are feeling much better real soon.
Now really. I doubt if you are unemployable. It seems to me that you think you have found a legitimate reason for not working.
How old are you? Who is supporting you? A job in a kitchen is just a stepping stone for you to use to acquire a positive reference. With that recommendation, you will be able to access a position that more closely satisfies your "ideal".
What skills can you offer the job market?
From what I'm reading regarding your rationalization for not seeking employment, I see a whiner, an elitist, a quitter, and someone who fears failure.
If you really wanted to work, you would be happy to flip burgers for a short time. Mercy.
Depression is a real problem. Why are you claiming jobseekers allowance? You should claim IB (incapacity benefit) and DLA (disability living allowance).

See your doctor and go to your local DSS for forms.
Have you been to see anyone to get help for your anxiety depression. there are jobs you could do from home. You obviously enjoy communicating through the computer. 70% of the population are depressed and have anxiety issues and go to work.

If you can articulate, get on, get help and get back to work make a start you must take responsibilty for your own health issues. dont just sit around get out to seek help from your GP
Good luck
