What other way is there to mail a thank you letter? You should always send it by mail if you have had an in person interview with someone.

Yes snail mail is good, but you might want to send a little thank you note via email too. This is just a good idea, since snail mail might take too long and many decisions on who should be offered the job or at least the next interview are made within a couple of days or so.
Snail mail actually makes it seem that you care enough to take the time. Good for you on the initative and good luck with the job.
In my opinion it is the proper thing to do and far more personal.
Snail mail is the correct way to send a thank you after a business interview. You probably scored points for that, and you probably would have lost points forthe e-mail. E-mail thank you's are inappropriate.
I've done dozens of interviews for my firm. All interviews were always additional work added on top of my regular duties. In other words, interviews are a real pain in the a** - I'm not paid to do it and it interrupts me from what I am paid to do. I do not mean to sound rude, but I get over 100 e-mails a day; I have much better things to do with my time than be interrupted by a job applicant's e-mail. I will deal with him/her when I have free time. I always prefer a regular letter than e-mail.
