Why is it so hard to find a job in Michigan?

Why does a person have to attend interview after interview after interview to find a job but continue to get turned down? My qualifications are good enough to get the interview, what am I doing wrong? Management persons encouraged to answer. thanks!

Answer:
I am having the same problem in Michigan. My odds are better playing the Mega Millions and winning than obtaining a job in Michigan.

Since you stated you have excellent qualifications. Management finds that you are going to steal his or her promotion from them. My recommendation is to observe how employees do their work. Go to the job interview and state how the current workforce is performing and how you can make it better or different.

I need more details on how to assist you in this subject. However, good luck in obtaining a job in Michigan
Well, I'm a management person, but it would be helpful if I knew what kind of job you were applying for. Perhaps you're dressed inappropriately, or use poor grammar, or have an attitude that isn't well conveyed to the interviewer? I don't know, you'll have to add more comments to the bottom of your question.
Two words. Jennifer Granholm. Her policies and agenda are so anti business that no one (including budding entrepreneurs) can afford to pay the taxes to support their business (AKA in the red). I have been hearing about a lot of people wanting to move out of the state just to improve their financial situation. If you are not to planted in MI maybe a move to a more pro business state may be the ticket to finding a job you like and you will get hired with all of your qualifications.
it's not hard to find a job. you need to mentally accept the job - next time you get an interview be mentally prepared- know that you are getting the job
good luck
have you had alot of jobs, or job changes? It really does cost the employer to hire new people and train them, try to buff up your interviewing skills and keep going to the interviews and look at them as practice. Give them a call back and ask if there was anything you did at the interview that could have been improved, believe it or not some people really do care enough to take the time to help. I also want to add that if you are offered a job, take it, even if it is not your dream job, employers will hire the employed, before they hire someone who is not working or had alot of employment gaps.
Do they still do extensive farming there? A great vocation!
Do you wear your best outfit to the interview?

Did you say anything negative?

Are you on time to the interview?

Do you bring (or have you submitted) a resume?

Do you make eye contact with the interviewer or are you

constantly looking elsewhere.

Do you smile and remain positive?

These might be some of the reasons you were not hired.
