I'm a minor, and my employer wont reimburse me for my Work Permit. Which is required by state law.?
Answer:
If what they are doing is really illegal, then you should do some research yourself. Where are you getting your information from? If it is credible source (like the actual State Page, where your rule is stated in writing), then print it out and give it to your manager. Note: You may have to go through corporate if it is a bigger company because managers are usually not in charge of reimbursement.
are you sure it's required by state law or it's general practice in your state? It would help to know which state you are working in.
I dont think they have to reimburse you. You want to work therefore you have to get the work permit. They dont!
I DON'T THINK WHAT THEY ARE DOING IS ILLEGAL. A WORK PERMIT IS JUST LIKE HAVING TO BUY A DRIVER'S PERMIT OR LICENSE. IF I WANT TO DRIVE TO WORK, I HAVE TO HAVE A DRIVER'S LICENSE. AM I TO ASSUME MY EMPLOYER SHOULD THEN REIMBURSE ME FOR MY DRIVER'S LICENSE? THAT'S NOT THE WAY IT WORKS. SUCK UP THE NOMINAL FEE OF THE WORK PERMIT AND GET TO WORK.
depends on what state you are in.
