Has anyone worked at Target before? If so, what's it like to be a cashier? Is it laid back?
Answers:
My mom worked at target arranging the store's different departments, she said the cashiers had it made because when the store closed they got to leave and she had to stay behind to fix everything else along with her collegues. I think you'll like it as long as people arent bitchy and mean, which they can be. Good luck!
I am a slow person but I got it down in a couple of weeks, it is just trial and error to learn. I just started too, maybe a month so far. I am cashier, it's awesome except every customer you have to ask "Hi, will you be using any gift cards or target rewards today?" Oh yeah don't forget to take 45 min. lunch at your fifth hour or you could get fired (not the first time but they will talk to you about itif you miss it.) Even though I am a cashier, they taught me how to work the floor and the backroom, to be flexible. Everyone at night has to zone like around 10 pm when they close the doors to the public, that is when you straighten things on the shelves, move stuff that doesn't belong. It's actually a cool job everyone is friendly. Just be nice to all the workers and they may seem cold or whatever because your new; but if you just smile at them soon you will feel like a fast, fun, and friendly part of the team!
