Collecting UI from California after starting fulltime work?

I'm collecting Unemployment Insurance from California but I just found a fulltime job. Does EDD know when I started my new job? How do they know? I figured I can get an extra week or so before they find out. Does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks.

California is known for being pretty serious about unemployment fraud. The new employer generally has to report its employees to the EDD at least quarterly and it will catch up with you. You can be prosecuted and fined, after which you will have a criminal record. Is the few hundred dollars worth the risk?
I am pretty sure they can track you through your SSN that you had to give your new employer
Welll, when you get your check ever other week for the previous two weeks, you have to indicate whether you worked during the most recent 2 weeks. Each week is figured separately. You gotta answer honestly or you're breaking the law.

The good thing is that since they're paying you for work you were out of two weeks earlier, you'll get your last check after you've been working for a couple of weeks.
