I checked the exam dates for my state and the closest places to take it are about an hour and a half away. Do they change the testing locations around or are they always at the same places? Also, does where I take the exam affect where I can work?
Answers:
Usually where you take the exam doesn't matter. They might have different locations to make it easier for people to get to the test site. Where it does make a difference is if you test in another district. Districts are generally by state, but not always. But, if you test in the Dakotas district, you will only be able to get a job in that district. So if you live in Sioux Falls and you take the test in Sioux CIty, you will be listed on the register in the Hawkeye District (Iowa) and not in the Dakotas.
