The NYC Fire Department is eliminating the need for college credits to attract more minority applicants.?

Answer:
I feel bad for NYC residents. Why would a company not want the most qualified applicant - which usually equates to college credits, although not always.

Let the problem be fixed further up the supply chain, and not by the business that is providing the service. In other words, figure how to get minorities the college credits instead of dummying down job requirements.

This sure sounds like a "business" we call "government". Just wait until the whole country is ran this way.happy employees that normally couldn't get the job, but then they get their paycheck and see the taxes they pay to themselves, in essence, are driven up by their lack of qualifications! Vicious circle.
Can't see why you'd need college credits to learn fire fighting but the reason they give to attract minorities seems odd-like minorities don't go to college.
