Wat do u think?

with the increasingly 'fluid' nature of jobs, where employees are expected to perform a greater range of tasks, is the job description still a valid jod design tool or will it be too restrictive?

Answer:
It's useful for starters. If you see a job you like, call them up and ask what else is involved with the job.
I don't think. Therefore I am.
It is still valid..vague, but valid.
You are definitely right in saying that employees today are expected to multi-task more than workers of the past. However, my view is that there should still be a set of key roles and functions associated with each employee (i.e. the job description), and any form of multi-tasking should not deviate too far from the 'core' functions and the primary focus.
