How can I tell my work colleagues to buck their ideas up without causing offence or being office witch?

Fed up with colleagues not adding things up properly or doing washing up or putting things away. This has been going on for some time so the irritation is not just PMT! I don't want to upset anyone but am getting jaw ache from clamping my mouth shut in frustration!

Answer:
Hum well good answer. I once came across the washing up issue. What the office mgr did was collect all dirty cups in washing up bowl (where they were left) and then put the bowl in the middle of the office garden where they remained. Then people wanted tea and couldn't find a cup and eventually someone retrived the cups from teh garden and seemed to learn the lesson (for some time anyway). Best way round it is either to make a joke of it or set challenges like office star of the week and award prizes. Either teach or inspire!
Why not just tell them? if it is annoying you now and you say nothing you will have more than jaw ache later!
do your job very, very well, setting an example. your boss will notice and eventually you can be a supervisor. in that role, you can put pressure on people. in your current position, you will only cause resentment.
Give them each an area to 'be in charge of' They will start to feel pride in their work and rather than being a *** they will admire you for giving them extra responsibility!
The truth is you can't say anything without you being deemed a witch, as you put it. Some people can't handle constructive criticism and will result to backstabbing which I feel may happen in your case.
It's probably best to keep quite or if you know of others in your environment who feel the same, elect a representative for you all and let them speak to someone in HR/your manager on your behalf.
What ever you do, DON'T have a "quite word" with them or slag them off behind their back.
You actually do sound like the office witch to me? You should go to the Doctors & get something for it?
You sound like your looking forward to Halloween?
tell them you've heard a whisper from head office that heads are going to roll as there's too many slackers and things are not getting done properly !.
