How can I be less nervous in a job interview?
Answers:
Remember that the interview is a conversation at its most basic element. Just as a company is interviewing you, you are also interviewing them. Remember this; even if they really like you, if you don't like them, then don't take the job.
Your job is a contract between you and your employer. If you keep this in mind it should help with your nerves.
So, before the interview, do the following: research the company and the position; double-check your resume, and make sure you bring a few copies with you; get your outfit ready the night before; and make sure to get plenty of sleep. Arrive early, and bring a notepad to write down any new information they give you during the interview. Don't be afraid to take notes, and be sure to ask questions if you have any. Remember, you're interviewing them too.
If I could give you one last piece of advice, it would be this quote by Andrew S. Grove, the founder of Intel:
The sad news is, nobody owes you a career. Your career is literally your business. You own it as a sole proprietor. You have one employee: yourself. You are in competition with millions of similar businesses: millions of other employees all over the world. You need to accept ownership of your career, your skills and the timing of your moves. It is your responsibility to protect this personal business of yours from harm and to position it to benefit from the changes in the environment. Nobody else can do that for you.
Good luck!
Just imagine the person taking your interview is naked.

well if it was me i would just be like ' okay this must have been done a billion times already all over the world past, present, and future - im gonna get it over with if they need me then good if they dont then oh well guess im ** out of luck'
take it easy and realize your not the first person to ever go through it.
before the interview, take long deep breaths (inhales and exhales) until your heartbeat normalizes...and best of all...relax and be yourself!
Study the company that you are interviewing with. Look up news stories, stock quotes, board of director information, and other information about the company before the interview.
The best way to combat nervousness is to always be thoroughly prepared.
Play it to your advantage. Learn to listen what the interviewer is saying. Try to figure out what he/she likes. Try to connect about what you know to what he/she likes. That would at least show the interviewer what you know and is playing to his/her favour.
1. Be nicely dressed and be prepared that you will be paid for what you have to give. If you give nervousness, you will be paid accordingly. If you show confidence, you will be paid accordingly.
2. Apply for more than 1 jobs. Apply for atleast 3-4 jobs. So, when you go for the first interview, you have in mind that even if you fail, you have other 3 to give a try. This will make you feel rich in resources and confidence will automatically shine in your personality (because you will not be desparate)
3. During the interview, talk to your interviewer as a friend and not as a boss. He makes decision in your favour or not, leave that decision on The Lord (because sometimes, even if you have given your 100%, results are 0 and sometimes, even if you have just given your 60%, results are positive). So, believe that "I will do my best in the interview. And will leave the rest on The Lord as he knows which job is the best for me"
Come up with three strengths you possess. The come up with some related work experience where you've had to overcome obstacles by using these three strengths. Use these strengths throughout the interview. Write down these strengths and supporting work experience utilizing these skills. Try to memorize the main points you want to make. You'll be more calm and collected in your responses and the employer will remember your strengths because of the repetition of applying these strengths to your work/school experience. When it comes time to make a decision, they'll be thinking "[your name] had these skills and they applied them effectively in their past work/school experience." And just like that, you've got the job.
Hence the others have given you pretty good ideas for the mental side. I'd love to recommend something with the appearance of yourself on that important day.
One of the most interesting, effective keys is to be in your favourite suit, it must be light and a bit old too...don't choose something brand new to you, it will just make you feel uncomfortable. Have a nice, soft pair of shoes on too. Don't make up too much, keep the natural look on you, smile gently whatever questions you hear.
Good luck!
