Saw an ad in the paper. Went in and applied. Eventually tested and got put on a list. Interviewed at several places (it's a school district). Got hired and am still there after 7 years.

I am unemployed but would like to know how to FIND a job these days. I was at my last one 16 yrs. Things have sure changed.
Began as an intern and was then offered a permanent position.
My mom and step dad talked me into leaving my job in Tx. ( of 13 years ) and move to Ga. to be a maintenance man for their 22 rentals . They made big promises , but few have been kept , throw in some other conflicts and you get me getting the He!! out .
Saw the ad, walked in to the office and asked for the person who hired me on the spot, been there for a few months and while I like the work and the people, I want a regular job with a permanent home, some control, responsibility, and benefits
I used to volunteer in that office and when they had a job apportunity , they told me about it :-)
my cousin told me about a job she saw advertised in the paper, while looking for that one, i found another that i liked the sound of, it was more money and something i was qualified for. got an interview 2 weeks later, but i couldn't quite remember all the details for it, so some of the questions i had to answer, i hadn't thought ahead for, luckily i got the job and am still there 2 and a half years later.
