I'm not unemployed but I am currently off work searching for a new job. I had a disc removed from my back in January and am not able to return to my current job due to its physical nature. Ive been off for close to year now due to the wait for the op and going through rehab. I have been searching for a suitable new job for the last 3-4 months. And believe me, the person who seems to think its really easy to find a job and that anybody can get a job if they tried is the fool. Unfortunately experience and knowledge mean nothing now when searching for work. All companies want is a piece of paper to say that you have a qualification. They don't care that in my case I have 10 years experience in a certain field with 5 years supervisory in that area, because theres some kid out of college with a piece of paper to say he/she got good grades when they took the exams. Its good that they got there education but surely experience should count somewhere. I have come across a lot of people who are in the same situation and I can tell you that its not a nice situation to be in. I have also come across a lot of wasters who are only interested in sponging of the state, getting coked up and drinking there day away in front of the god awful daytime TV.
Banswer.com !? it depends why there unemployed..the dolites that dont work coz they cant be bothered usually sit at home getting stoned playing the psp all day, eating pot noodles and drinking special brew that we paid for with our taxes!!

watch jeremy Kyle and This morning, then go and queue in the Social Services office for their appointment where they pretend they have been looking for a job so they can get next weeks dole cheque.
then i guess they go buy a couple of cans of special brew and find an empty bench in a park to drink them. once thats done, they go home cos they remember they left the kids alone with just a pot noodle to share.
of course, some unemployed people will be out looking for a job, but lets be honest if they really wanted one they could get one. its easy finding a job unless you are an illiterate, useless fool.
hang around smoking or lying in bed, most of them are bone idle, but there are a lot of poor people that want to work and cannot get a job, they are the people i feel sorry for in this situation. i have no time for lazy layabouts that dont want to work.

Um...get on YA, watch tv, nap, play games on the net, sleep some more, then get up and maybe wash the dishes or do the laundry.

LOL It's hilarious how everyone here thinks everyone who doesn't work is living off of the government. I am a stay at home wife, because my husband is a geologist offshore and if I worked, I'd NEVER get to see him because he is in town only one week for everyone two he's gone. Anyway, when at home I do a lot of cleaning, I spend time with my elderly grandmother in law at the nursing home, I read, write, see friends, and workout a lot. It's not ideal, but this is the situation now.
Watch daytime TV.
My old housemate used to watch the history channel a lot..bit like Keith Miller on Eastenders really.
Oh and eat Magnum icecreams.

Hi, go on Banswer.com , look for jobs, help with the cleaning of the house, help with the shopping, excercise, take dog for walk clean rabbit. Eat and drink when we want watch the news. go shopping, listen to music visit relatives, The thats the full day.
So not all of use sit around all day doing nothing.
I.ve not worked in over the last three years,I CARE for my mother do her shopping cleaning prepare a meal,go to the post office for her pension,I tidy the garden cut the grass and decorate for her,I don't get any payments from the state I've work ed for over thirty five years paying my taxes and nation insurance,i clean around my home do the garden and decorate fit new fitting when required,my life isn't an easy one I try to get out about meeting people,I try to thoughtful and happy I.ve earned my retirement yet I see more and more idiots around running there cars at high speed in built up areas,people parking there cars in places that they shouldn't they leave there litter around and don't care
Watch Maury, Jerry Springer because they can relate to their shows. Watch Bet and MTV and complain about why the people around them ain't doing enough for them, and why we should respect them even though they don't do anything to deserve it. Watch reality shows cause thats the closest they get to getting out and seeing the world. Down people for trying and get ecstatic when people fail. This is basically the daily routine. I guess they eat cereal and sleep cause they need their energy because it can be tiring doing nothing.
Spend little time at home - why use your heating when it's free in shops and libraries? Scam all you can - unemployment benefit isn't much. Use the computer in the library they are free. That sort of thing - plus make cheap booze.
Well, I'm unemployed (for about 1month ), I'm not on welfare and am currently looking for a job. By the way, I am an intelligent, well educated person with a BA in both Psychology and Sociology. I've always worked in some capacity since I was 16 yrs. old. In the meantime, I try to convince others that I really want a job and am looking. But the job boards I've posted on haven't been too helpful so far. But I mostly keep trying to remind myself that I am not a loser and that there is a position out there for me, I just haven't found it yet. Being unemployed is NOT fun. It drains all of one's dreams, inspiration, motivation and makes it really hard to remember that we are still a member of the human race with contributions to make. And contrary to what most of you seem to believe, we are not all bums who play on the internet, eat all day and watch tv. So perhaps some of you who posted that we are society's nothings that cost the taxpayers money, perhaps you would like to provide me with a bonafide job offer? Just curious!
