How to be success full at my new job?

I just started my new job as accounts recievable and i was wondering what are some good tips to keep in mind when i go to the new office on monday. i really want to blow them away with good work ethic. remember that this is a small office.. and i sit right next to my boss ugh!!

Answer:
Give it your all, but not too much. If they see you working at 100 miles an hour the first day. They will expect it everyday, and you will burn yourself out.
So, just pace yourself and keep busy. Don't wander too much. Good luck, Hon. And congrats on the new job!
Arrive a little early each day.

Don't get involved in office gossip or time-wasting conversations

Learn as much as you can about your job.

Think of it as a career and not just a job. Find out about the possibilities for promotion and what you have to learn to move ahead. Bosses like employees who want to advance because they do a better job.

Be punctual from breaks and lunch.

Don't whine if someone gives you extra responsibilities. That's how you stand out among the ordinary people and show the boss what you can do.

Be the best accounts receivable person you can be and it should open the door to bigger and better things.
The usual, never be late, do as asked, speak when spoken to, keep personal stuff personal, keep busy, etc etc etc

Edited to add: I totally agree with "CR" above!! :)
Well that "Ugh" has to go away. Be thankful, maybe you can learn something from your boss.

Smile, be friendly and be helpful. The easiest way to succeed is to be well liked (unless you ask Machiavelli).
get in early. never leave before your boss. you are there to help him do his job and if you leave before your boss does, you can't be helpful.

don't be too stand offish, you want to develop relationships both in the office and with the ppl you will be interacting with outside the office.

last is attention to detail. always look over everything you present to you boss and doublecheck for math mistakes and spelling errors. presentation is everything and careless mistakes reflect on your work ethic. the extra 1 minute it takes to look for careless errors will go a long way.
