Can you make a substantial amount of money selling Avon?

I'm looking at different options to earn some money on the side - is selling Avon or something similar even worth the time and effort? Anyone have experience with this?

Answer:
I started selling Avon over 2 months ago, and I am doing very good at it. I have had enough time to build my customer base up now that I am steadily making about $500.00 a month selling Avon. I started selling Avon because i wanted to make a career change and I knew when I did, I would not be able to make the salary I am now so I had to have supplemental income without the hours of a second job. I decided to do Avon because it is a product that I love and that I knew would basically sale itself as long as I provided the customer service my clients wanted. And, I have. That's why many of them have provided referrals. I am now getting ready to make my career change and am excited because now I will have more time with the most important person in my life, my daughter, and I owe it to selling Avon.
If you are a good saleswoman, then yes, it's a good product to sell.it sells like Tupperware..but if you aren't a good saleswoman, you won't make much..
my mom raised four kids by herself, we didn't want for much, although we were not spoiled..and won a trip to Hawaii (all expenses paid). she loved it.
No, for most Avon reps that I know it's more of a hobby than a business, and you can sink a lot of money into samples and inventory to keep your customers happy. If you enjoy meeting people and helping people, you may enjoy it and make enough money to make it worthwhile for yourself.

Very few Avon reps are successful enough to support themselves on it as their only income, but it can be nice part-time income.

This is a great site to earn some extra cash. I work here and i make great money. It's so easy, all you do is fill out short surveys and they will pay you for it. The best part is you dont' have to pay anything to work for them and you can work at your own convenience. Check it out and give it a try. If you have any questions you can email me or go to the forum on the site. They can answer any question you have. You can also go to the forum on the site to see proof of payment. Good Luck and God Bless!
Avon is coming up in the world. Its everywhere. More people are buying it, so i think it is wroth the time. It pays enough depending on how many orders you get. You just have to know where to go and who to show.
i think its possible but i also think it will take a lot of work, heres one where you can work 5-10 hours a week and earn a fulltime paycheck, be self employ, work to make yourself rich, not someone else,i work with a great company they help homeowners pull tens of thousands of dollars of interest savings out of their mortgage through a carefully controllled biweekly prepayment system(by dividing their monthly payment by 2). their services is so popular, they're saving homeowners BILLIONS of dollars! this is NOT something that homeowners can easily do on their own due to many hidden pitfalls.. homeowners pay you about $395 to sign up. 2 simple forms. NO refinancing is involved. you enroll the client. the company do evrything else. and YOU CAN POCKET 100% COMMISSIONS! call 1800-365-7550 ext 61583 and get free info, that will explain it in more details, or e-mail me at astride9@aol.com
Sure. Lots of people do make a living, but there are also alot of people that don't. Do your homework. Make sure it's the products that you would feel best about selling. You can almost sell anything via direct sells / network marketing. Ask lots of questions and beware of those that ask for a large investment.
