Is Being A Grocery Store Cashier Hard?
Answer:
no not unless you dont know math its easy and you have to no were stuff is but youll get the hang off it
Its not rocket science. Few other jobs would challenge your brain less. The only bad thing is that you are on your feet all day and you have to put up with rude customers for a few bucks.
I worked for Food Lion as a cashier/bagger bag in the day and it was pretty easy work except for the occassional annoying customer.
If memory serves me right, my first day I filled out paperwork and watched some training videos.
Good luck!
get an education and get a real job
Thomas, maybe this job is what will earn the money to help pay for an education.
There are no easy jobs. Being a grocery store cashier is as hard as you make it. If you want to be promoted and given raises, you will do the best you can in any position you have.
I will never understand Americans labeling jobs as "real" or thinking that they are too good for some jobs. If you want to earn money, you will do what is necessary and do it well whether it is a cashier in a grocery store or the drive through window at Mickey D's.
Don't do poorly because this isn't a "real" job - it is. You never know.the person you serve and treat nicely might be the supervisor at the next job where you go for an interview.
You will do all your paperwork before you can start work.
You have to decide if it's a difficult job or not.Ask yourself questions. How much does it pay? What hours will you work? Do they offer benefits? Do you enjoy working with people? Do you have patience to tolerate the customers that are not real nice? Can you stand on your feet the hours they want you to work? Is the job just a cashier or do you have other duties as well?
There you go, now you can make up your own mind.
I started a job as a book keeper for a huge designing landscaping company w/ 11 years of secretarial work in a hospital.(big change) My boss asked all the wrong questions when i was hired! They were answered in yes and no form.Never had to explain or talk about my previous position. And you can probably tell i am a bad speller let alone typer lol! Well i went in and pretended to know all aspects of the job. Now it is three months and still blonde. I changed his office and made a great impression! You can do it! growing up as a teenager i worked in florists and bagel stores (hung over from parties the night before) Made a mean bagel and beautiful arrangements. You can do it! SMILE! (always works)
This is not a job but its to make a lil extra money.
