I'd have my own work (I'm guessing you mean your own business) because your salary is based on your efforts and if you do well the income will be the result of that effort . and not fixed. Obviously in a fixed income scenario, no matter how hard you work, your pay is the same. I would prefer my own business so I can determine my income.
