How can i get a good job, that pays a good living to provide for my family?

Answer:
If you have not gotten enough education, its impossible. Get as much education as you can. Businesses are looking for people with higher education. After that, i would be a doctor or lawyer. People are always getting sick, and people are always getting in trouble.
life science!! hands down!! anything with nursing, doctor, surgeon, pharmacist, pers. support worker. those are great jobs with good benefits.cheers

too open ended, you have to be able to bring something to the table other than the ability to ask a question.
Get a good education, as much as you can get in a field that you enjoy.

Without a highschool education people earn about $12,000 per year in the USA (varies for some people but this is about typical).

With Highschool education. earn about $18,000 per year.

4 years of college. earn about $35,000 per year.

6 years of college.. earn about $50,000 per year.

8 years of college.. earn about $80,000 per year.

there is some variation on the job you do, if you are a teacher you will earn less than if you work in a major company, etc. but this gives you a rough idea of income.

Addendum: After WWII the US Government gave returning veterans benefits to go to college. This boosted prosperity and the Government took in more money in taxes from larger incomes.. so the investment of YOUR time and money into education are well worth it too!
You need to have a skill that someone is willing to pay for.

You should try to get a job that is harder to be outsourced - and that expands all of the time, most radiologists are now in India, they send the digital films there.

Jobs unlikely to be outsourced

anything with the government that requires ITAR (means you have to be a citizen)
Physical / Occupational Therapists / Nurses
Police / Firefighters/ EMT
Elementary / Junior high school teachers (some high school is being taught off of internet outsourced)
attorney (they don't know our laws, and can't telecommute to court)
Judge
I would get into the medical field. Take a quick class in something like CNA, Lab Tech, etc. If you live in the US, this will bring your wage up to $12 - 16 an hour plus benefits. Then, get enrolled in college and get a degree in the medical field, which would pay $16 - $60 an hour, depending on what you get your degree in. A Physician's assistant makes really good money. Also, RN's that specialize in a certain area makes really good money, too.
It does not matter how much money you make - it matters how you spend it. If you have the get rich state of mind you and your family will live within your means and manage to save some. Work smart not hard. Live smart not hard.
If you are good working with your hands plumbers, electricians and carpenters are always in demand.

For the time being, go to work for a contractor who does the kinds of things you like doing. Learn the business and how to do get your own contracts. Then, if you wish, you can branch out and become your own contractor.
where are you looking? If you have a clean license you should definitely apply for FedEx or UPS. FedEx has exceptional benefits package and great room for growth. Medical,Dental,Vision,Life,401. Reimbursement, stock options. It doesn't hurt to try. I'm sure UPS has the same things but they are also unionized. the starting pay for FedEx is over $15/hr. Good Luck
Good job does not mean you must attached to some company and you have to work for them on monday to friday. You also can go for the internet business which requires less of your time and the one that will not make you feel headache with web designing, or which require IT knowledge. Second, choose the internet based company which offer you the opportunity and at the same time giving you the convenience to start the business. be self employ, work to make yourself rich, not someone else,i work with a great company they help homeowners pull tens of thousands of dollars of interest savings out of their mortgage through a carefully controllled biweekly prepayment system(by dividing their monthly payment by 2). their services is so popular, they're saving homeowners BILLIONS of dollars! this is NOT something that homeowners can easily do on their own due to many hidden pitfalls.. homeowners pay you about $395 to sign up. 2 simple forms. NO refinancing is involved. you enroll the client. the company do evrything else. and YOU CAN POCKET 100% COMMISSIONS! call 1800-365-7550 ext 61583 and get free info, that will explain it in more details, or e-mail me at astride9@aol.com
Take a leap and go to school for something you are very interested in. Then get jobs, hopefully in the field you are studying, to gain experience. This takes time, but it is worth it to be marketable.
Robert, You are on the right track. Realizing how important it is to provide for your family is the biggest part of your battle. They are counting on you.
1Timothy 5:8 states:
But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.

What strong words! If it sounds like I'm on a soapbox, please pardon me.I am.

You obviously know where your priorities are. Good luck. You ARE on the right track.
