If I wrote for a magazine, would the pieces i write for them automatically become theres?
Answer:
If you dint work something out with the magazine and if they are making money off of it , odds are they own it now. In the fine print to many magazines and news papers it reads that all letters sent to the publication ( the magazine in this case) are made property of them. Or some crap like that.
Some times the magazine does not claim ownership, they just present it. So you would really have to talk ot them about that.
no they own like half cause they will pay you to put them in the magazines and you would have to sign something giving them permission to put the writings in
yes, i publish.you sign a waver before publication.
Given that the word, as you use it, is spelled 'theirs' rather than 'theres', and that any competent writer would know that, I find it highly unlikely you need to worry about being hired to write for a magazine.
