Is a salary of 141,000 dollars between two 19 year olds a respectable amout of income?
Answer:
Do you actually have jobs lined up with those salaries? If not, you might be suprised to find that some degrees do not pay as well. I know in my area, a psychology degree is almost useless. My husband has a woman at his work that has a ph.d in psychology and she makes $40,000. Dental hygienist do get paid well, however, so you shouldn't have a problem. If you both do have jobs lined up with those salaries then yes, those are VERY good salaries depending on where you live.
EDITED TO ADD: The jobs you have lined up may pay "on average" a certain amount, but unless that is the amount they have promised you, you should expect MUCH less. Average amounts usually include people who have many years of experience and what not. My husband is in a job that pays an entry level person, on average, according to salary.com about $15,000 more than he actually makes. And I find it incredibly hard to believe that someone with a degree in psychology and nothing more can bring in that kind of money, unless it is due to nepotism or something.
that sounds good to me.. more than what me and my bf make together..
but i imagine you should wait to see what your actually going to make.. once you both find jobs.. before you get to excited about how much your going to making
lol yes
Yeah, thats PLENTY. I think average is about 50,000 per year.
Nope, you are making too much. Better send some my way! Of course it's good, ya lucky dogs. I am pleased and quite impressed. Good luck in the future.
yeah, that's good, my bf, me and our 3 kids, plus him paying child support for another kid, we all live pretty comfortably and he only makes a little under 30,000 a year
That is well above the average U.S. househould income.
One COULD say that it's not wise to count your chickens TOO early in the developement of the eggs.
If I convert it into GBP its £75,000 and thats a hell of a good wage for someone your age.
Yes, that is more than enough. The average household income is about $45,000 in the United States. Remember that is including both parents working. So technically you make 3x times more than a regular family household
I wouldnt know, this is the Yahoo uk questions.
I dont have anything against Americans (my gf is, so im not really allowed to), but why do so many of them come on here and ask questions more suited to the Yahoo us questions. Hmmm?
you can live on this salary and the more money you make the more you spend so any body can live on that amount it all depends on watching those pennies and spending wisely.
that will be plenty. however i find it hard to believe that a major in psychology is gonna bring in anywhere close to half that. maybe in a very large city. the average American income is somewhere around 25000.00.
You don't even have jobs yet. Hell, you can't even spell licensed. And you're pregnant, so it's not like you're going to be working anytime soon. A Dental Hygienist can expect to make about 34,000 to start. And a psych major is good for nothing right out of the starting block. Years more of college to become a psychologist. Or, your bf will be stuck in dead-end jobs paying around 40,000 a year at most.
So let's be realistic. You aren't going to be two 19-year olds earning anywhere near 141,000. You're going to be 2 kids with a child and about 30,000 a year in income plus student loans to pay off and no good job prospects.
the average household in the united states makes about $30K to $50K a year. so yes, you will be bale to work and live very well in those two salaries put together.
You're joking right? OF COURSE YOU WILL LIVE COMFORTABLY!
And to top it all off, you're 19?
jobs arent easy to come by..education means nothing
its all about experience
yes take it and run with it but make sure u stay in school so u can have something to fall back on
You should do fine w/that.just don't forget to save some too:)
kja has some very valid points!
wake up sista' you dreamin.
Great salary to start off on, if that is what you are really going to be making. Be wise and don't over extend your budget. Spend only what you need to at first, save up and start to invest early, as your salary improves, so can your spending, with in reason. Your young, and the sooner you learn how to be smart with your money the better.
Good luck
please honey, if my boyfriend and i made that much together id feel like i could have anything in the world.we make combined together like ummmmmmm maybe 20,000 to 25,000 dollars a year lol
you say you're 'going to be' and he's got a major. This does nessasarily mean you are actually earning this amount. Averages for these jobs are different based on cities and the cities you live in will also have a cost of living that coincides directly with your salary.
If you live in New York City, then you'll be making something like this, but the rent is horrendusly expensive there. If your living in Tennesee somewhere, your pay will be much lower and your cost of living will follow suit. There is such a diverse range of income, that to spout an average would be shortsighted to your success.
May I recommend looking into America's diverse climates and choosing based on that?
not bad.u can live comfortably in the US.as long as u dont use credit cards .or do too much shopping..u can own a house.have two cars and still be comfortable.
Hahahaha YES! I'm jealous.
