What can you tell me about lawyer as a profession?
Answer:
It is a good profession and generally well paying . You also have alot of benefits and perks . The downside is the burnout issue cause you are dealing with peoples lives, emotions , and freedoms everyday and it can get depressing when you lose . There is a huge glut of lawyers at the moment and only the good lawyers are making big money .
You don't know what a lawyer does? Maybe you should consider something else. Something more inline with your abilities. Maybe something like a McDonald's Fry Cook.
Question: If you had all the lawyers in America buried up to their
necks in sand, what have you got?

Hi,
Having had dealings with lawyers on a number of occasions I can tell you that a large part of the job of a civil, as opposed to criminal lawyer, is bluff, a bit like poker. The lawyers of one side write letters threatening that they will sue and have a good case hoping that the other side will back down. Now if one side is poor and cannot afford a lawyer that usually they do indeed back down. But I choose to represent myself and researched the various laws, eventually after much correspondence with my opponents solicitor I threatened to take my opponent and her lawyers to court at which point they back down. So, lawyers earn a lot of money and a lot of their job is to act as bully boys for the rich. Also I know a few lawyers, most are rich, none of them seem particularly bright. Civil law is, in my opinion, a thoroughly disreputable profession occupied by scoundrels.
The answer really depends on what kind of law is practiced.
For example, a public defender, patent law, environmental law, contract law, family law, real estate, etc.
