Can an employer Impose a change from weekly to monthly pay ?
Answer:
mine has just done that, but we got a interest free loan to cushion the blow
Mine did!
yes most employers pay monthly now unfortunately
Afraid so
Just be glad your getting paid son,but if the jobs bugging you start looking for new but dont leave till you found another job.The boss should have respect to his workers and mybe you would not need to ask this question.
Yes. They should have good reason though to do it. If they don't and you can state a case you may be able to a small compensation.
Yes they can, but they need to give you written notice that they will be switching to a monthly pay system by this certain date. This will prepare their employees to adapt financially. I pay my employees monthly as well.
They sure can buddy
Yeah mine did, it was a right pain at the time, you get used to it though
I think they can, but if it presents a problem for you in the immediate short term you might be able to delay it so that you can sort your finances out to coincide with it (bills/direct debits etc..). If you have a HR department speak to them.
I'd advise going to the following website;
http://www.acas.org.uk/
They have wealth of advice for people with employment problems or just questions about working practice in general.
They've helped me on several occasions and I believe they also have downloadable files for specific problems etc.and a phoneline if you just need a quick answer.
Good luck!
Yes, your association with your employer can be terminated at will by either party. You can make demands on your employer and threaten to quit if they aren't met. I know exactly one person who did that and got away with it.
Yes, but only if they gave you sufficient notice that they were going to make this change.
this happened to me a several yrs ago.as long as they give you adequate notice and help in adjusting to the change then they can do this. help is usually a months money in advance which is then deducted over the following 12 months. eg.£1200 is your avg. monthly pay they loan you £1200 as they make the change this is ontop of your usual weekly paypack, this is a mini lottery win but remember it has to last you a month, then for the next 12 months they deduct £100 till they have their £1200 back.when it happened to me i was very anti but now i'mused to it monthly is better . the golden rule is as you get your wages pay your FULL months bills as soon as then whats left is yours.also 99%of employers give 2 to 5% pay rise for this change as they gain a lot more.
yes they can they have the right to set policies and pay periods are one of many.
yes
The only jobs that are weekly paid nowadays would be temping for agency's/temporary work otherwise most like to pay monthly as it is better for cash flow and banking arrangements.
