How will a dui affect my career?(Im 19, Tx)?

Answers:
This will stay on your record and employers will see it if you have background checks, and if you were convicted of a dui- you have to say that you were convicted of something every time you fill out an application to work anywhere...what were you doing driving under the influence...you're 19!
I'm not sure about TX law. but here in Ca. A DUI never comes off your record...thus creating a nightmare for your insurance history.
what career? you have not said what your career is. your bad driving may or may not. is your job one that requiers you to drive? if yes then you just crapped in your own back yard.
It will probably effect it greatly! Most companies of size, now do criminal background checks. It would be best, at an interview, to be up front with it.
This way you can come up with some sort of excuse. Beats me what that would be. But it's better than Human Resources getting a police report and tossing your application into the circular file!
Well unfortunately, employers these days rely heavily on your record. Too many only look at whether your record is clear or not. So if there is something on it, never mind how minor or unrelated to the job, you could get more than your share of rejections. Sorry.
