Can you email a resignation letter or should it be delivered by hand ?

Answer:
I would deliver the letter in person or at least leave it with the secretary. Email is probably acceptable, but hand delivery is more personal and business like.
I'd say by hand, unless you did something bad and wan't to avoid contact.
you can delivered it by hand its better.
I agree with Tia. Email makes it seem like you're embarrassed about it.
A resignation letter should definitely be printed. If you don't want to deliver it personally, send it registered mail with return receipt.
By hand. Sending it by e-mail is such poor etiquette, it may affect your using that job as a reference.
it's best if its delivered in person..
I guess that would depend on how your boss prefers to receive communication. I'm betting, though, such letter would be preferred by hand.
haha
I would definitely recommend delivering a hard copy. I would actually meet with with whoever I am supposed to give the letter to, explain why i want to quit and then personally hand it over.

If I am away and need to send it in urgently, I would send it by e-mail but would however follow it up with a hard copy.
be professional - delivered it by hand! don't burn the bridge! leave with a lot of goodwill and positive image of you.
By hand, of course.

I always use a plain white envelope, and stand under good-quality flourescent lighting so that my soon-to-be-ex-boss can see very clearly which of my fingers is fully extended as I hand it over to him.
i suggest you to submit the letter by hand.
I resigned by email - loved it !
Well, you CAN email a resignation letter. But it is more PROFESSIONAL to deliver it in person. If your boss isn't there, leave it with his secretary or asst mgr (depending on where you work).
