How do I contact my HR department at work w/o my boss finding out?
Answer:
Remember: The HR department works for the employer--not for the employee. If you have a bad boss--there is not much you can really do. Except, find a different job. Do it quickly. Also go to http://www.refresher.com/!ddebully.html. this is a very helpful article. Remember: a bully is often supported by the HR department; a bully really can hurt you; so guard yourself against the emotional damage a bully can do to your psyche. It is not illegal for a boss to be a bully. It is only illegal if your boss treats someone badly, and someone else nice--and the difference is due to sex, age, race, religion, or national origin. In other words, the boss can treat people like crap.and get away with it. This is very damaging to the employee . the best thing you can do is find a new job.

GO TO LABOR RELATIONS, DON'T ALLOW YOUR BOSS TO INTIMIDATE YOU, ACQUIRE SOME BACKBONE.
Do you know of any Employee Assistance Program offered at work? Or is there a toll-free hotline you can call? Both may not apply if you work for a very small company, but you should be able to talk to HR in total confidence. They are supposed to address things anonymously. Hopefully you will be able to talk to someone and they will help you resolve the issue. Good luck; I hope it all works out. There is nothing worse than being miserable at your job.
Visit HR directly. Your human resources department should have their doors open to you. Also, they're required to keep complaints anonymous, so if it gets back to you, your HR department can get into some big trouble.
If you're really afraid of going to them directly, you can also leave them an anonymous letter explaining what has happened.
Good luck!
Your company should have some form of confidentiality. I just went through the same thing. When I emailed my H/R department they forwarded it to my boss. I don't care though. But really, you should be looking for something else in the meantime just in case the worst case scenario happens. I don't think they're allowed to do that though. Set up a meeting time. Maybe lunch with the person. You could meet at the restaurant so no one finds out.
