How do I get my new co-workers like me?

What should I do on my first day of working at Books-a-million, to get everyone to like me. Should I bring chips and dip? Or Allouette and veggies or no food or what? I'm a nice person, but not a big talker.

Answer:
introduce yourself to people as you work with them.At the end of the week bring in cookies as a Thank god it's friday treat.. this will go over great..Be considerate and helpful this always is a way to win people
always smile and sometimes talk a lil bit
You dont have to do things for people to like you. Just be yourself. Do your job to the best of your ability. Goodluck!
just simply be yourself
well with most people, myself included, the first day on the job is a big enough issue with out trying to get everyone to immediately like you. although you may not be a big talker, you will be talking to them and if as you say you are a nice person then they will all like you. If you think you need to buy their friendship or whatever then you are just being silly and people who need to be bought are probably not worth your effort.
Don't try too hard. Be yourself. Do your job. Don't gossip about others. And, be helpful. They will like you. You sound very nice. Don't worry.
Quiet can be a good thing, but don't act shy about it. Keep them curious so that they will want to ask you questions about yourself, and lay back, relax, and enjoy being yourself. As far as the goodies are concerned, I have never seen someone do this, and it is a nice gesture, but depending on the new co-workers, it may be misconstrued as kissing butt.

Have a great first day!!
Bring nothing except knee pads. That would send a better message then trying to suck up in a different way by bringing food and other bribes.
The honest truth is, you cannot `get´ people to like you. People can only convince themselves to like you and what most people like to see (beyond the obvious good mannerisms) is authenticity. I cannot overemphasize that.
Take care!
