Proof reading?
Any ideas who this advert was from and how to contact them?
I think it was on-line.
Answer:
Beware, it's a scam. You correct a simple text, and after you send it back, they tell you how clever you are, then offer you a course, an expensive one, in proof reading books and things, with the promise of many well paid jobs in this field to follow.
It's a scam.
It's definitely not as straight forward as that. Reason is, they need somebody with strong editorial skills. More importantly this person they are looking for must be proven. Otherwise, they might have to proof read again and do double work.
My advice is to find some other opportunities.

I've seen ads like this which were simply trying to get you to sign on for a proof reading course, and pay the company lots of money for the privilege. Getting a proof reading job isn't THAT easy!
I'll bet you're the same person who keeps posting "did you hear they removed "gullible" from the dictionary?" (If the ad "was on the back of a national newspaper", how did you manage to see it "online"?
Could you contact the newspaper in which the ad: appeared? They would normally have listings of advertisers.Your posting is one of the few on this board that does not require a proof reader to make sense of it! Good luck.
I've often seen those in the national press - charterhouse or chapterhouse.one of those..and they are selling proof reading courses, not offering jobs.
While I can't comment on the ad you refer to, these proofreading opportunities often seem to be a scam. Beware any opportunity that offers a reward disproportionate to the effort required! In the end it's usually only the promoters of such schemes who benefit
Well I’ve got something better for you. Here is a free way to make money without fronting the cost of signing up and placing your credit card. You wont make a lot of money with this site but you get paid to participate online discussions. Just make sure you have a pay pal account so you can get paid once you get the dollar mark.
