Well, they may not have a whole lot of jobs. Be careful some people do not want to hire out-of-towners. Believe me. I live in WI and I am from LA and after employers looked at my husbands resume they would call him in for an interview, and after knowing that we came from the South, they did not call back. If you truly want to move LIE on your resume and say that you've had a job or 2 around there. Say that you are staying with your boyfriend already..good luck.
Perhaps you should have gotten better grades or gotten some more experience while in school. It's your own damn fault that you can't find a job!
I did the same thing. 6.5 years ago. I moved from NJ to TX and I looked and looked before moving. You have to actually move to the location in order to get any position. Only because you know if you do land an interview, they're going to want to have you come in, so that they can look you over, you know the whole nine yards. Therefore if your boyfriend is already there in WA, just explain the situation and tell him you need to actually be in that state in order to fine work. It might start out with a job that you're not pleased with. But as you get to know people and girlfriend, always do networking. My sister had me networking with all the higher ups and it worked. I had so many companies calling me until I actually had to sit and decide which one I wanted. Would it be for the money or location or just because this particular company is where I'll fit in best. So talk to your boyfriend, and listen to what he says.
Good luck!
Are you applying to what you are seriously qualified for?
Location is an issue. Employers want to be able to interview you easily. Try putting "will relocate at own expense", or similar, on your resume or cover letter so they don't think that you expect them to foot the bill.
It's easier getting a local job, but it's definitely possible to find one elsewhere.
Try careerbuilder, dice, craigslist, monster, yahoo, etc. listings.
You can search for jobs on Craigslist,an online classifieds website. Since Craigslist, allows free job postings, many companies post their vacancies on this website. You can also search for jobs from multiple websites using aggregators like SimplyHired and Indeed. Referrals are also becoming a increasingly popular way to get hired.
