Go to work, there's nothing like it. But 1-2 days won't be like working.
Try local library or summer programs for elementary age kids like VBS or other kids activities that need helpers
When you know what you would or may like to do just phone them and ask. I work in a Biochemistry Laboratory and we love students to come in. They test the staff with questions and we get someone to help with some of the jobs we find boring but as the student is new they love it. We have hired 4 of the last 6.
which ever area you are in try the government sites, our area site is, www.worcestershire.gov.uk
approach companies in the field that you are interested in mind you for a summer job you have left it a bit late. but if it is long term you may have a chance
Hay Group, based in London, employ actuaries for executive pay and pensions type work. You can find their contact details at www.haygroup.co.uk

Might also be worth trying other HR management consultancies.
