How do I find an introductory computer job?

I am in the middle of my college career, and I want to try to find some job in the computer industry that doesn't require a college degree or a whole lot of experience (as I haven't learned everything there is know!). What are the best ways to find these type of jobs?

It sounds like you might be looking for an internship. If you are looking for a job, you might look into getting your A+ ceritifcation. Once you get that, you can probably get a job as a config tech. That is a pretty entry level IT job assembling and testing computers.
Try to get part-time work on your school's IT helpdesk. If you're not familiar, it's the people who answer the phone number you call at school when you have problems with their computer infrastructure (i.e., their hardware, software, or network).

A good helpdesk manager will recognize that even if you don't have the technical skills now to fix their specific problems, if you can do general troubleshooting and can empathize and visualize what the caller is seeing and talk on the phone well, you can be taught the technical specifics.

You can't teach common sense and personality, but you can teach technical stuff.

I started as a software trainer, did deskside assistance, worked on a helpdesk, managed and hired staff for a helpdesk, implemented a new call-tracking software system for my helpdesk, then left that company to go be a technical pre-sales resource for helpdesk software. It's a very lucrative career with many options. I can go back to training, managing, or implementing software if I want. (But the money's in sales so I'm staying!)

Remember, don't try to be the most technical guy on the helpdesk - try to be the helpful, friendly guy that everyone likes to talk to. The other stuff will follow.

Good luck!
I would agree that getting a job as a helpdesk or lab monitor type position at your school is a great way of starting out. The pay will typically be terrible but you get your foot in the door with regard to references and experience.
Check out your college job placement office. There are many companies who hire college interns for the summer as well as throughout the school year. Most of those companies end up hiring you after you graduate because you already know their way. Good Luck!
