I'm having a real bad work week. Do I try and shine or bail and quit?

One of our cashiers messed inventory control, sales for 9/21, and sales for 10/21. Tech support says he has no idea how to fix it and he wrote the program. I've been working on it for 2 days.

Answer:
I personally wouldn't quit because of one bad week. Try to fix the problem. If you do, you'll get recognition for fixing it and that's better than bailing any day.

It doesn't matter where you work, you are always going to have a bad week somewhere. Just think to yourself: it won't ever be any worse than this.
Try reformatting your hard drive. Just kidding, I have no idea what I'm talking about. BAIL AND QUIT!
Depends on your motivations. If you think you can help and want to go for it. If you're doing it for a pat on the back, you may want to reconsider.
Do you like your job? Expereinces are hard to get, if you do decide to quit, give your 2 weeks notice so that your time there does not go to waste b/c of simple frusttration. If you can, bare with it, and rest plenty. Hope you have better days ahead of you!
Try and shine. Just think of all the self-satisfaction and recognition you'll get after you fix it.
The best approach is to try and troubleshoot the problem with others. How you handle this determines your character. While it's understandable that you want to run away (flight vs. fight), it's important to see this through. You'll feel better about yourself knowing that you "worked the problem" instead of letting the "problem work you"!
it depends on how bad you need the money,if you do not need the money, then quit.but if you do then stick with it,the bad part will pass
So, everytime you have a problem at a job you're going to quit? That's not going to do much for your career. I say deal with the problem at hand-isn't that what you get paid for? Besides that, it's not the end of the world.

And you might want to see a professional to work out your fight or flight response. You seem to have a defeatist attitude and you seem to be a high flight risk.
If you don't need the money, walk away and find something else worth your time. No need getting through all that trouble for nothing.
