How to counsel subordinate at work?

I have a subordinate who refuses to think outside the box or work on anything outside her duty statement. People in other areas of the business have started to complain to me about her attitude. I have spoken to her once about this but she has now reverted to her usual pattern of behavior. She doesn't want to deal with the people who dislike her because of her attitude and asks me to deal with them instead.

Answer:
If you have already spoken to her, and if she does her job, there is not much that you can really do. In my experience, people who have an attitude can change for a short while after discussion, but inevitably revert back. If this is more of a personality rather than a performance issue, you will have to determine if she is harming the work environment of others, and you may choose to let her go, because your options are limited. I always try to work with people, but there are definitely people who are difficult and who do not fit in, and they cause a lot of negativity for everyone. If someone is truly unhappy, they should work somewhere else.
DO SO IN PRIVATE.
LIST YOUR DOCUMENTATION.
LIST YOUR EXPECTATION.
SHOW WHERE SHE IS RIGHT-
POINT OUT "WEAK AREAS" NEEDING CORRECTING.
DO IT IN WRITING AND YOU AND HER SIGN AND DATE.

YOU'LL NEED TO DO THIS EVERY 30 DAYS (FOR 90 DAY PERIOD)TO SHOW IMPROVEMENT OR NOT COMPLYING.

IF DOWNWARD NOT UPWARD-THEN YOU HAVE DOCUMENTATION FOR TERMINATION.
theres always the three step method:
1. Praise the employee for the great work she has done and the standard she has set.
2. Recognize her deviation from the norm and find what assistance you can give to correct issue.
3. Thank her for addressing the issue, and assure her you are looking forward to her usual stellar results.
if you have followed all the guidelines and protocol and he /she dosen't comply . easy step and that is to terminate employee.
