Do you respect someone who...?

..gets a job because or promoted just because they are friends of the manager or boss?

Answer:
It certainly is annoying, especially if the person is totally unqualified. However, it ultimately comes back to bite the person who hired them in the you-know-what. Serves them right!
No why should you.

However, that's how lots of people get jobs.
That is just wrong so my answer is no.
promotions no.jobs yes, I think promotions should be given to those who have done a good job and deserve it.if you're new to the company, you should not get promoted simply because your friend is the boss, you should have to work your way up.thats the way it is.but there are some sneaky people who do this.dirty bastards! lol Its ok for a friend to get you a hookup on a job as long as they dont give you special treatment.
I would respect the boss/manager even less!! Hooray for the person using whatever is necessary to move ahead.
:)
Nope.
this kind of stuff happens all the time. how can you respect the boss or the manager? I just couldn't.
NO! Actually it's the boss that I'll be upset with. I knew a few people that got promoted that way and ended up getting fired b'cause they couldn't hack the job.too bad.
remember the ones who step on your fingers on the way up will have a foot in the face on the way down
No. I respect someone who has worked damn hard and deserves the promotion/job if this is friend or family all well and good.
No. Its not what you know , its who you know, and that is just so annoying.
